Our Story

September 5, 1928 is the date the Spruce Pine Rotary Club was founded.

We are the oldest active Rotary Club in North Carolina.

Our Club is a diverse group of individuals reflective of our community. We invite you to consider membership in Rotary wherever you live.

  • Membership in Rotary International and affiliated clubs allows you to participate in service programs that provide a significant effect on the quality of life in the community.
  • Through the Rotary Foundation programs, membership offers opportunities to form international partnerships that help people worldwide. Some 1.4 million Rotarians in 30,000 clubs in more than 167 countries make significant contributions to the quality of life locally, and around the world.
